Join the Team

There are two main ways to join the UBC Pre-Law Association team: as a hired general team member or as an elected executive.

For general team members, hiring typically takes place once in the spring and once in the fall. Please note that there will be no fall hiring in 2025. Departments recruit based on their specific needs, which means available roles can vary from year to year, and positions are not guaranteed. When hiring occurs, announcements are usually posted on our Instagram with links to the hiring package. The package includes details about the open positions and the application process. Application requirements and timelines may differ depending on the department.

To become an elected executive, you must participate in our annual election, which is usually held in March and determines the executive team for the following academic year. You do not need to be a current team member in order to run. Each candidate delivers a short speech accompanied by one slide, after which voting takes place among the UBC Pre-Law Association membership.

Benefits of Joining

Becoming part of the UBC Pre-Law Association provides a valuable opportunity to build leadership, communication, and organizational skills while working with a motivated and supportive team. Team members gain firsthand experience in planning and hosting events, collaborating with campus partners, and contributing to the growth of a student-run organization. In addition, members enjoy free access to UBC Pre-Law events, networking opportunities with legal professionals, and access to resources such as our Undergraduate Opportunity Directory. Whether you are interested in exploring law, developing transferable skills, or expanding your professional network, joining the team is a rewarding way to engage with the pre-law community at UBC. Follow @ubcprelaw on Instagram for hiring updates.
